Why a Titan Storage System?

It's Affordable!
The benefits of moving disks out of your servers and into a storage area network or SAN provides businesses with:

• Scalability: disks can be added to expand capacity and performance to meet any application need.

• Reliability: Storage is accessible from any server connected to the SAN so data is always available.

• Security: San storage can be consolidated and pooled in a secure location to protect data.

However, these features usually come at a high cost. One of the most prominent SAN storage options, Fiber Channel SAN, is based upon special networking technology that is complex to operate and expensive to own. Because Fiber Channel technology is not manufactured in high volume every component usually carries a high price tag.

Our solution is an elegant, simple and inexpensive alternative to Fiber Channel and SCSI storage. We have implemented a simple open standards protocol that allows the disk shelves and Titan network filer to communicate across a standard Ethernet network using simple Ethernet frames without the burden of the TCP/IP layer. Server access to the Titan network filer is accomplished through iSCSI using existing and commonly available network adapters resulting in an overall cost savings that makes the Windows Titan Storage system the most affordable SAN solution on the market today!

It's Easy!
Our Titan Storage systems are simple to use. Simply assign each disk shelf a unique identifier and connect the disk shelves either directly to the Titan network filer or to a switch with connectivity to the Titan network filer. Access each disk shelf through the Titan network filer by its unique identifier and configure your LUN's. Finally, through the Titan network filer, publish your LUN's via iSCSI and you can now access them via any server with freely available iSCSI initiator software and a standard network card(s).

It's Reliable!
The Titan disk shelves include a technology called RAIDshield. RAIDshield continually inspects all sectors of each raid disk in the array to detect and fix soft disk failures and ensures that you are getting optimal disk performance.

Many businesses will choose RAID 5 when configuring their disk arrays because it is too expensive to consider RAID10, but no one likes to compromise data integrity to meet budget restraints. With the cost savings associated with the Titan Storage system disk arrays configured as striped mirrored pairs, or RAID10, is not only affordable but provides a greater level of redundancy and has a 80% less chance of a failure than RAID 5 arrays do.

Out Titan Storage system also has options available to synchronously mirror data across multiple Titan disk shelves providing an increased level of redundancy!

It's Scalable!
The Titan Storage system allows for unlimited expansion! Using standard Ethernet switching and connections a Titan Storage SAN can have more than 65,000 storage shelves. This means that if each disk shelf is our 24 drive model with 1 TB disks you can have more than 1,523 Petabytes. Yes, that is big!

With the addition of the Titan Virtual Storage appliance you can implement multiple scalable LUN's that can span multiple disk shelves.
